Since 1991, Betsy has played at hundreds of venues in Western Washington including: Olympia Farmers Market, Lakefair, Super Saturday, Rock the Vote, Capitol Theater, Traditions, Harbor Days, Thurston County Fair, Spiral Rhythms Festival.

Betsy began playing the guitar at 14 and has sung and strummed professionally since 1980. Teaching in Olympia since 1995 (Yenney Music-6 years, Music 6000-3 years), she opened her Music Studio in downtown Olympia in 2007.

Now, with full Internet access to all music videos, etc.,
she can teach you anything you want to play (within your playing level, of course).

Uniquely qualified with a huge repertoire of songs from all eras and genres of music, she can teach you just about anything you want to learn, including:

• Guitar: Acoustic/Electric/Slide, Rock/R&B/blues/jazz/classical/folk/country, flatpicking, fingerstyle or combination.

• Piano: Beginning classical/rock/jazz; basic accompaniment for singers; music theory.

• Harmonica: Simple melodies (straight harp); Blues (cross harp).

• Mandolin: Bluegrass, Irish fiddle tunes, melodies, chords.

• Banjo: Simple strumming, chords, finger rolls, bluegrass/folk, Scruggs style.

• Electric Bass: With pick or fingers; slap bass.

• Ukulele: Great starter for young kids! Fun songs w/simple chords and melodies. Rhythmic development/ear training. Note reading if desired.

• Music Theory Demystified: A comprehensive study of scales, chords, melodies, progressions from various musical genres for the singer/songwriter or serious student.
